Passage

When does a boy become a man?
16? 18? 21? 40? When does a girl become
a woman? Who is teaching these boys and girls what it means to be a man or woman?
TV? Movies? Internet? Friends? Facebook?
Are you comfortable with these teachers?

The purpose of Passage is to facilitate the conversation between 8th grade boys and
8th grade girls with adults about what it means
to be a man or woman who God desires for
us to become.

WHAT DO WE DO?

We facilitate this conversation through five weekly gatherings with the boys and girls, discussing in interactive,
fun and meaningful ways five qualities of a man and woman.

We then get a way for a weekend retreat full of mystery and surprise to “bring home” the importance of these
qualities and to help them understand the importance of the stage of life they are in, no longer children but young
men and young women. The weekend is an unforgettable, meaningful weekend. We will have follow up gatherings
to check in with the students and to encourage them on their journey as they progress towards adulthood.

BOYS 8TH GRADE		GIRLS 8TH GRADE		SENIOR BOYS
The attributes we will discuss are integrity, courage, self-control, community (care for others) and obedience to Godly authority (responsibility). We will look at different stories in the Bible, watch video clips, actively learn and memorize verses. The weekend is challenging and adventurous.
